
Canada says it has discovered “credible allegations” that tie brokers of the Indian authorities to the deadly capturing of distinguished Sikh chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau advised lawmakers Monday.
Canada is house to one of many world’s largest Sikh diaspora communities and is the location of Sikh activism that has displeased the Indian authorities — together with the Khalistan motion, which seeks to carve out an impartial Sikh homeland in India referred to as Khalistan. Nijjar vocally championed that trigger.
